Coming as a Couple
Lately, more and more couples have been coming to our lessons together.
"We started after retirement, and we've kept it up for years now," "When our children left home," "It began with the results of a health check" ── the reasons vary, but they all say the same thing: "We've found a shared hobby, and we talk to each other so much more."
The Joy of Sharing the Same Time Together
The longer a couple has been together, the more their topics of conversation can settle into the same grooves: work, the children, the house. ── All of it matters, but having one "thing to look forward to" that belongs to just the two of you can slowly change the texture of everyday life.
The time spent at a café after a lesson, saying "that bit today, it went like this." The time practising together for a recital. The time discovering a new side of each other. ── The hours that dance brings about are, we think, something money cannot buy.
No Athletic Background Needed
"My husband hates exercise," "I have no sense of rhythm" ── ballroom dance may actually suit people who say exactly that. It is not strenuous exercise; it is really an extension of good posture and the way you walk, so anyone can begin, whatever their age or athletic experience.
Of course, you are just as welcome to join on your own. Many of our students come by themselves.
Start by Simply Watching
If you're thinking "maybe I'll invite my husband along," you are welcome to just come and watch first. We'd love for you to feel the atmosphere together.
